Pilates is a prescribed exercise method taught by health professionals to patients with specific pathologies. Pilates aims to improve muscle strength deficits or postural imbalances. It focuses on using the deep trunk muscles to stabilize the trunk while performing movement exercise sequences. The exercises are designed to give you better functional control with all your day to day activities. Rehabilitation pilates is specific to your individual needs and is a perfect progression after physiotherapy treatment.
Our experienced physiotherapists also offer Pre and Post-Natal Pilates classes. These Pilates exercises address spinal and pelvic pain, prevent incontinence, help flatten tummies and tone bodies in a safe environment. These classes also include specific information regarding feeding and carrying positions.
Patients are asked to have at least one assessment session (one on one) with the physiotherapist who is taking them for the Pilates class.
This is important when booking online so you do not book a class session without this assessment session occurring first.
